It started with Burton and Norma Mastin in 1960. Sixty-five years later, their granddaughter is still doing right by Whitehouse.
Most companies say they treat their customers like family. We've been running a family business long enough to know that's usually just something people say. What we actually believe is simpler: you do good work, you charge a fair price, and you show up when you say you will. Do that long enough and you don't need a marketing team.
That's how Burton and Norma started this company in 1960. It's how Randy and Shirley grew it. And it's how Mandi runs it today.
The Mastin family started this company, but the people who answer your calls, dispatch the trucks, and do the work on your property are the team you'll meet on the team page.
Meet the Team →Burton and Norma Mastin founded the company, running it out of their home in downtown Whitehouse. They provided the community with wastewater services, no frills, just honest work for their neighbors.
Burton and Norma's son Randy, alongside his wife Shirley, incorporated the business as Randy Mastin Septic Tank, Inc. They moved operations a mile outside of town to the current location on Waterville Swanton Road.
Randy and Shirley's daughter Mandi started working at the company right out of high school. For 25 years she worked alongside her dad, in the office and in the field, learning every part of the business the only way you really can: by doing it.
Over the years the business grew to include water well services, well pump installation and service, chlorination, grease trap cleaning, and backhoe work. The core commitment stayed the same: professional, knowledgeable service for Northwest Ohio.
Mandi took over the company a little while back. She's running it the same way her dad and grandparents did. Same crews, same trucks, same standards. Three generations in, and she's not about to let it slip.
We don't upsell you on services you don't need. If it's a $150 fix, we tell you that. If it's a $15,000 job, we walk you through why.
Our customers have called us "reputable and fairly priced" for decades. That's not an accident. It's how we were raised to do business.
Three generations of hands-on septic and well experience. Not certificates from a weekend seminar, decades of doing the work in Northwest Ohio yards.
We're based in Whitehouse. Our trucks are local. Our crew is local. When you call, you get us, not a call center in another state.
A lot of our customers have been with us for two or three generations. That's because we think in decades, not transactions.
Mandi writes the She Knows Septic blog to share what she knows with homeowners. That's how committed this family is to doing septic right.
